在活的非凋亡細胞中，膜聯(lián)蛋白V-iFluor 488檢測非誘導細胞中的先天性細胞凋亡，其通常為所有細胞的2-6％。 在凋亡細胞中，膜聯(lián)蛋白V-iFluor 488與磷脂酰絲氨酸結(jié)合，磷脂酰絲氨酸位于細胞膜的外部小葉上，因此導致染色強度增加。
